JOSHUA JOHNSON HOWLE'S OBITUARY:
HARTSVILLE — Funeral services for Joshua Johnson Howle, 23, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009, at North Hartsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Gardner and the Rev. Homer Hinson will officiate with burial in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 20, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Darlington County Humane Society, Box 1655, Hartsville, SC 29551 or Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 1635 Cedar Creek Road, Hartsville, SC 29550.
Josh died Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Born in Darlington Cty., SC, he was a son of Jerry Boyce and Donna Johnson Howle. He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia and was a third year student at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. He enjoyed playing the piano and people knew him by his smile and his laugh. Since the 10th grade he was a pro bono vet for the local area. He was the 2003 AgriBusinessman of the Year. He was employed at the Hartsville Animal Hospital and the Dr. Russ Page Reproductive Progress Clinic of Watkinsville, GA.
Surviving are his father and mother of Hartsville, SC; brother (spouse), Jerry (Tiffany) Howle of Fredericksburg, VA; maternal grandmother, Mary M. Johnson of Hartsville, SC; paternal grandmother, Betty T. Howle of Hartsville, SC; aunts (spouses), Jacquelyn (Mickey) Mixon, Louise Howle, Wendy (Kenny) Howle, Tonya (Lawrence) Hawkins, all of Hartsville, SC; uncles (spouses), Kenny (Wendy) Howle of Hartsville, SC, Woody (Tanya) Johnson of Greenville, NC, Daniel Johnson of McBee, SC; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Jean Howle and Gene Johnson.
